Just how much have you guys spent on your cars?

Besides buying your cars, how much money have you guys put in aftermaket?

If you've spent 50k or zero k it's cool... I just wanna know where me and my lil v6 stand.

When I ran my best time?

$90 Used hurst short throw shifter

$20 on towels for zaino
$40 for clear corners(not installed)
$15 for K&N
$10 for used stock lid
$3 homemade smooth baffles
$15 man fan switch(not installed)
$130 SLP takeoff LSD(not installed)
$300 nitrous kit(not installed)

Money I spent but kind of repair/maintenance
$200 power steering pump
$90 NGK plugs, 8.5MM MSD wires, 1000* heat sleeves
$475 for tires(probably about $75 more then my stocker tires since I got them for the Zr1s)
$8 fuel filter


$1123 fun stuff
$1888 total

Repairs:

Faulty trans. seal = $723
Brake job = $343
Waterpump = $421
Speakers = $110
Turn singal bulb (last night) = $6

General Maintenance:

Tires (x2) = $1,211
Trans. Flush = $112
Coolant Flush = $72
Oil Changes & air filters ~ $200


That's all I can think of now.

damn......i better not let my gf see this thread...........by the time im done, ill have spent $10g on a car thats only worth $6g+


and when im finished all that........ill want nitrous and a 9" rear. there goes another $3k.


i should just sell this stupid car and all my parts and buy a C5.

got_hp: i'll sell you my 350 lt1 w/ 10k miles on it for 2300 and you can make it a 355 for cheap. pm me either way.

$1585 invested = 12.119 @ 115.42 spinning like a ***** and with far below NX's recommended bottle pressure.

SLP/Yank 2800 stall converter - $350
GM 10-bolt with a T/A Girdle and Stud Kit and GM Motive 3.73's. - $400
Power Programmer to correct for gears - $170

$2505 invested = 13.216 @ 103.97mph spinning, off the bottle.

Spray pull my PB 60' (1.762) = broken, already BUILT, tranny 12.304 @ 108.27mph.

New BUILT tranny and no new times.

BMR Tubular Adjustable Torque Arm - $250
GM 847 - $208 (sitting in my room).
Ported Stage 2 LT1 Heads (Stage 2.5) - $1250 (also sitting, waiting to go in).

$4213 Invested = No new times.

Getting the Tranny BUILT @ Ken's Performance :
1st time = $1450
2nd time = Free
3rd time = $1130 (gave me a great deal )

Total invested in my car, wether it's in the car or not yet, comes to a grand total of $6793.


Plus countless sets of tires, lol.


When everything is installed I should have a low 12 high 11 second LT1 N/A, and just a wee little bit faster on the 150 hit.

but then id have to spend another $2k on top of that just to make it a forged 355!
