Jacksonville Area

Is there much of a hotrod/preformance/custom scene in jacksonville and the surounding areas?? Any race tracks(other then Daytona)? Im probably moving to the area in about a year, and in a few years id like to open my own preformance/custom shop in the area. But if there is much of a scene then ill have to move elsewhere.

Are there any good shops in that feild in the area. Thanks!!

There used to be a good number of shops. Now most of them have closed up and left us with rice shops. There's Jax
Raceways where there is 1/8 track, go carts and dirt track racing.

Is there a demand for shops other then ricer shops?? That would be great to have the only shop in the niche.

Right now in thinking Jax Beach area. I visited there and really liked the area. Didnt see much in the way of hot rods or musscle cars, but I was there in the middle of the week. Anyinput would be great. Thanks.

Go to jaxracing.com and pose your question there. That is the web site where a lot of domestic (and some import not necessarily ricers, the ricers don't last long there) racers do most of posting and reading. There is a pretty big race scene here in Jax, street and strip. Most go to Gainesville for their 1/4 mile strip racing. As stated, Jax Raceway is here and is an 1/8 mile track. There are some performance shops around that cater to the domestic crowd. There's always room for another good performance shop though.
