i got a job!
i got a job!
i finally got a job today! i'm working for universal as Destination Universal Vacation Planner. basically i'll be in one of the hotels along i-drive in a booth in the loby selling tickets. it's kind of a far drive, but the pay is worth it.... $7.70 + commission. i have orientation thurs night and training the following week. after thurs night i'll have my id card and i can get into all the parks for free! that means i'm hittin up island of adventure, universal, busch gardens, adventure island, and wet n wild as much as possible. i also get a mad discount to the stores at city walk and the theme resturants like the mideval times and arabian nights. i'm so excited about this job, i can't wait. i need the money so bad and i think this will be a pretty cool job. plus i'll be able to meet a bunch of chicks on vacation.
Do they need anyone else? If so maybe I can get a job there... I live near UCF too, maybe we could car pool to work if I get a job there, lol. If you could find out if they need anyone elst that would be awesome!
their hiring tons of people right now for the summer. if you go there, make sure you apply for destination universal vacation planner. that's one of the best paying part time jobs they have right now. it's been a real pain driving down there b/c i went last mon to apply, went back on wed for a group interview, went yesterday for one-on-one interview, today for finger prints, tomorrow for orientation, and then all next week for training. i finally broke down and bought an e-pass today b/c it sucks trying to find change before i leave. since i have orientation tomorrow, i can give you more info about the job. if you want to go down there before to apply here are the directions:
from i4, get off on 74b universal exit, instead of going right into the parking lot, turn left on hollywood blvd, take your first right onto turkey lane, go down a couple of lights, you will pass a hess station on your right and it's the first light after the hess on the right, Universal Studios Plaza . there's a big sign for human resources. when you pull in you will make a left at the stop sign before the gate. drive down a little ways and there are front spots for applicant parking.

My girlfriend is still looking for a job, she is looking to make about that much and still work at Oviedo Movie theater, which she is currently applying for management right now. She used to work there at IOA at the popeye ride but only made like $6.50

i went to orientation tonight. i didn't find out anything specific about my job. it was just a welcome to universal type thing. we do get some pretty decent benefits like getting in free just about everywhere and discounts. i'll post next week when i start training, which is going to suck. i've gotta complete 40 hours of training in 5 days so i'll be full-time this coming up week.
btw: if anyone is planning on going down there let me know. if you fill out a referal card and you are hired, i will get free passes after you have been working for 90 days.

i started training on tues and will continue through next wed. there is really a lot of potential to make money in this job. there is a lot of info you need to learn, but it's ok to not know eveything and call for help at the job. basically the job is your a consieur(sp) or a mini travel agent at various hotels in orlando. there is a booth in certain hotels in their main loby and you basically sell anything and everything possible besides disney stuff. you're able to sell universal, IOA, busch gardens, wet n wild, dinners, cruises, boat rides, ect. you also set up transportation services if needed. you also have the ability to make comission on certain things you sell. if you sell multi-day tickets you get comission, you also make money from referral cards, setting up a rental car for someone, and other stuff.
over the past two days i have been overwhelmed w/ information that i really can't remember most of it right now. if anyone is really interested i would be willing to meet up w/ you and tell you more about the job. i believe they're hiring a lot more people right now. i have yet to shadow someone at a hotel yet so i don't really know whats its like yet. hopefuly after i experiece it i'll be able to give a lot more information about it. like i said, let me know if you're really interested and we can arrange something to meet up.
