I was in my slomobile Blazer today on the 417 headed toward Rienhart Rd. today @ about 10:45. I was on that last big swooping turn before Rienhart and I4. I was cruizin along at about 75 and suddenly a white 96ish Monte Carlo w/ blacked out windows passes me like I'm stopped.....probably 100-105mph. Just as I watch him narrowly miss a guy 300 ft. ahead of me in his lane I look back to see a newer Lumina cop car lights still off coming up @ 110+. As he evens out w/ me he rides the brakes pretty hard to change lanes to get around the car in that lane 300ish feet up. Just as he changes lanes the car up ahead does to and the cop nearly stuffed it right into the back of that guy before getting back into the opposite lane. By this time we're all only 1/4 mi. from Riehart. The Monte has made it back into the left lane then @ the last second threads his car inbetween a dump truck and the Nissan Pathfinder in front of it to get onto the Rienhart exit. The cop's vantage point put him in a position where he was unable for a few seconds to know whether the Monte was still in front of the dump truck or getting off the exit ramp. I think the copped guessed the guy would head for I4 and only @ the last second realized he'd gone down the off ramp, which caused to him VERY narrowly miss the dump truck, exit ramp sign and the bearier wall (I could have done it in the Z but this cop had huevos to do that move in a Lumina). By this time the Monte had run two cars off onto the side of the exit ramp and made the light on Rienhart. The cop got caught up in the cars on the exit ramp thinking they could safely get back on, but eventually got around. The last time I actually saw the Monte Carlo was @ this point turning right onto Rienhart accelerating like a mid 13's car!!! The cop didnt' reach the light @ the bottom of the exit ramp until the Monte was beyond by viewpoint because of trees. Well, I got to the bottom of the ramp and took a right. I could see that there was traffic in disarray up @ the Rienhart/46 light and the cop was almost there. It appeared as though the Monte had cut a left through a red light from the straight lane around two left turn lanes and narrowly missed a few vehicles in the intersection. I caught the light and sat there for a minute. When I got onto 46 and got to the light where you turn to go into Seminole Town Center, what I believe was the original pursuit vehicle was in the left turn lane, the cop standing out of the car w/ his hands in the air in a "does anyone know where he went" motion to another cop car that had strategically placed itself to block the onramp back to I4. I was caught @ this light too and saw the cop talking on his radio, but couldn't hear what he was saying. Just as his turn arrow went green he pounded the roof of his cruizer w/ his fist, jumped in and pulled a U-turn. I'm guessing the guy somehow got away. I wish he hadn't since I'd seen him narrowly miss hurting so many other people.

That's too bad the police officer didn't catch him. I didn't even know they used Luminas for cruisers.

 

i bet they eventually got him..............its tough to outrun/drive the radio in a populated area...........but maybe he got lucky.

I dunno what I was thinkin....I always want to call those new front drive "Impalas" Luminas....since that's what they really are
