Post Goodyear GSC's...and ordering slp takeoffs

hey, anyone have the GSC's? i need new tires desparately, but tirerack is "backordered" on the G-force kdw's...

anyone had experience with ordering SLP take off wheels? $99 + $15(shipping) for a decent tire...doesn't sound too bad...

or should i just hold out for the G-force?

tire rack rates, dry traction on the gforce at 9, and the gsc's at 8.4....i want some good traction...i'm torn...

Are the take-offs $99 for the pair or $99 each?

I have a set of the SLP take offs. $460 shipped to my door. Could not beat it. The tires still had the little "hairs" on them. They were all boxed individually. The UPS guy even stuck around till I opened one up!

I figured that I got 32,000 miles out of the originals, and they stick pretty good, I could not beat the deal...

Cool

Whoa! I got excited there for a minute. I thought you were talking about wheels and tires for $99. But after I checked the SLPENG website I guess you meant just the tires.

Still not a bad price. But Discount says they have the KDWs you wanted for $144 including valve stems and lifetime balancing.

Discount what? what company is that? cause i just got a quote from a decent shop and they quoted me $408 for 2 g-force kdw, 245's mounted, lifetime balance and rotation...i figure i can get them from tirerack and have them mounted for less than $300!

he suggested Protenza RE730's...anyone have those tires...any evaluations?

I have the RE730's and I like them. From what I hear they are considerably better than the GSC's. Especally in the rain.

My complaint is they became a little noisy as they got older. Nothing that would stop me from buying then again though.

I have pretty close to 40K on them plus ~50 1/4mi passes, and 4 Auto-X events I still think they have at least another 5-10k in them.

Jeff, You might be interested in these for REAR tires. Discounttiredirect.com , where I ordered my nitto drag radials, is selling 225/50/16 nitto 555r ( yes drag radials ) for 65.00 each with free shipping.
THey will fit on stock wheels very easily, and will outperform any stock tire...
I know they will fit because I had 235's on my stock wheels and those fit fine didn't stretch or anything, the 225's might stretch a little bit, but they can be mounted on any 7-9" width wheel, go to www.nittotire.com for more details.
If your interested take a look, I just figured since i know your trying to save money, then bam 130.00 shipped to your door for 2 good friggen tires. hope that helps man.

All they do is sell tires. You usually are in and out. Most shops have six bays with one or two for new tires. All of the bays are for new tires at Discount. More tire mounters = faster service. Most people don't know it but they patch tires for free too. Even if you didn't buy them there. Check 'em out!
