Cleaning out the apartment of car parts
Cleaning out the apartment of car parts
Cleaning out the apartment - yes, all of this is in an apartment. If you have or know someone looking for 4th-gen F-body parts, read on. Some items have applications outside of a 4th-gen F-body, though.
These are going in the trash the end of the week if nobody wants them. I'm not shipping anything but might be able to meet you somewhere in the Orlando area for delivery. All items are as-is and I take no responsibility for them. Unless specified otherwise, these items were either removed from a 1998 Z28 or were purchased for use with it, and are used. You're welcome to inspect anything on the list.
Section One is on the honor system - you probably only want something if it has value. So if you're interested, shoot me a private e-mail with what you think it's reasonably worth. Else I'll post when I've thrown it out and then send directions to the trash compactor
Section Two is for actual sale items.
Jim

My SES light came on twice, and I had the parts store reset it, the code said running too rich banks 1 and 2, and I heard it might be the cats or O2 sensors. I know in FL they'll replace the cats free until 80K miles. Are the O2 sensors in the cats and do you think the dealership will replace the O2 sensors free?
I just haven't had time to go, that's why I ask.
The O2 sensors are not physically attached to the catalytic converters. On a stock car, there is one O2 sensor before and after each catalytic converter. The one in front essentially tells the computer how much fuel to add/remove to maintain the optimum 14.7 air-fuel ratio. The one in the rear basically monitors whether or not the catalytic converters are physically present.
The O2's I have have different length harnesses. One is about a foot long, and the other perhaps 8" long. They don't have part numbers on them.
I don't know if the O2 sensors are part of the emissions warranty. I'd certainly confirm with a dealer. If you can get brand new O2 sensors for free, that's the best deal.

Haven't had any clutch slip problems since I went with the SPEC stage II. Well, OK, I shattered the disc once...but is that really slip?
I'm not sure if the McLeod adjustable did anything, but it's been reliable. I also stopped going to the dragstrip so I'm sure that's part of the equation.
The McLeod unit needs shims. I think it came with four, and I have three of those four. Not sure where the other one is hiding.
The Z06 unit might work with just a new disc.
