Anyone in Orlando area do a t-top conversion

If so I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out. I'm not 100% positive that I am going to do it, but I really want to get it done. I love t-tops, and from what I've heard on the board when you do a conversion your less likely to have it leak b/c you can adjust the t-top fitting. I am not very good with working on cars, etc. but my brother is pretty good-he just doesn't want to be the one to do it the very first time and mess it up. Let me know if you've done it, and if you would be willing to help out at some time I would greatly appreciate it--and can pay you some cash also (let me know what you think would be a fair price). Thanks a lot,

Erik

Edit: I would love to do a Targa top like Whistlers (his car is bad a**) but it is probably a lot more difficult-and from what I know he is probably the only one who knows how to do it.

All you need is a hacksaw and some super glue.

Really though, try getting hold of Mark, don't remember his screen name. Drives a Electron Blue LT1, he's done it to his, I am sure he can give you some tips at least.

Mark's name is 5LITEREATER on the board. Make sure you have a headliner and t-tops. It isn't to hard, but you will need to do a little finishing work to make it look good.

Thanks for the replies so far guys-I really appreciate it. I'll wait and see if 5LITEREATER sees this and replies with any help, if not I'll try sending him a PM. Yeah, Whistler has the Targa top-but I think it takes more work then a t-top conversion, and he probably wants to be the only one (or one of a few) with a Targa Top( or at least I would want to be).

You can look up Mark's last post, and shoot him an email. He might be at the MCO meet at hooters this Sat.

You must have a donor car to get all the necessary parts. With the amount of junkyards in bithlo, you should be set.

I'm not trying to be a wet blanket, but I've heard from a reliable source that in FL it's illegal to modify a car to make it a convertible, have T-Tops, a removeable top, etc.

its also illegal to remove your cat or other emissions equipment, but not too many people get caught... i wouldn't worry about cutting t-tops and the law

Nobody will know unless they can decipher your RPO codes. Who's gonna check that anyway?

Like I said in my first post, I'm not trying to discourage him from doing it, I just thought I tell him about that.

You'r emore likely to get in trouble for a non-emissions exhaust than any structural mods. Ask the body-dropped sport truck guys.
