Anybody in Orlando wanna help swap a rearend tomorrow (Thursday)?
I picked up a 3.23 rear and I'm looking for some help doing the swap, mainly for lifing and positioning purposes. Any takers? I'd buy ya lunch!

I can't today, but maybe tomorrow or definitely over the weekend.

Thanks Abe!
I found out I have to convert the new rear (which is 3 channel) over to 4 channel to retain my abs. So it is going to be a little more involved than I thought at first. |

Called ya & left a message. Let me know. If only it was a 3.42 we could just put it in my car. :D

Umm... bring me up to speed Mike. What happened to your red 98' Z28?
The 3 to 4 channel conversion is easy... swap axles and backing plates from your old rear - done. The 4 channel has reluctor rings on the axles and the sensors are mounted on the backing plates. 3 channel has the sensor mounted on top of the center section w/ a ring on the carrier/ring gear. Hope that helps... |
Re: Anybody in Orlando wanna help swap a rearend tomorrow (Thursday)?
Sold it cuz I got fed up with the 6-speed. Basically tired of having the MPH to run 12.40 and instead running 13.20s. Took the wheels, ported tb, and lid off and sold it for 8 grand.

I'm glad you have seen the light. :D Don't get me wrong, M6 cars are fun... but the consistency of an auto just plain kicks ass. Before you buy anything else... get a stall converter. Hello 12's!
I have a converter that is geared more towards a nitrous set up, and you can see what I ran N/A in my sig. Something more aggressive for an N/A set up would have yeilded better results. I'm just not willing to give up how hard this motherbitch pulls upstairs. |
Re: Anybody in Orlando wanna help swap a rearend tomorrow (Thursday)?
I've already got a TCI SSF3500 waiting to go in.:D
Me and Abe just finished up the rearend swap today. It took us about 9.5 hours total. Just got to get the speedo fixed and she'll be ready to go. |
Re: Anybody in Orlando wanna help swap a rearend tomorrow (Thursday)?
Aweome, you'll dig the shift extension and hard launches on sticky tires. I highly reccomend M/T drag raidials.
I truly wish I had done omy converter first... I did 99% of the bolt ons... then the stall.:o |
Re: Anybody in Orlando wanna help swap a rearend tomorrow (Thursday)?
Come on man, you left out the best part! We didn't have a single extra bolt, nut, or screw when we were done. And it took 9.5 hours to swap rearends and an exhaust. I'm glad it came out right man, now just get the computer recalibrated and let's go to the track!
