Single Cat Header Conversion Questions??
I just recently bought 95 single cat AS&M headers for my 96 Camaro SS. I want to know if there is going to be a problem with the OBDII computer upon installation???. From my understanding OBDII have 4 O2 sensors. One before the cat and one after the cat on each side. Is this true?? Since my AS&M's only contain one O2 sensor on each side, I'm guessing the OBDII will not like this??? Would it be easier to convert to OBDI rather then getting O2 sims??? I know it would be cheaper. I'm wanting to convert to OBDI down the road anyway, but I'm courious to see if there is a way to install the headers immediately without going through the hassle of changing the computer and knock sensor????
Any help on this topic is greatly appreciated.
Thanx

Since you're planning on converting to OBDI down the road anyway, now is a good time to do it. In addition to having the rear O2's programmed out, you might as well program out the EGR and A.I.R. to eliminate those codes. You can get an OBDI conversion kit from http://www.pcmforless.com and he can set it up so you don't have to replace the knock sensor.
I just used O2 simms for a while after doing mine, got them on the for sale section for $40. I later got PCMforless programming for other changes so I had him delete the rear O2's too then sold the simms for the same price
