What can I use to plug the holes on my headers?

I think they go to the air pump. I took it off and and plan on plugging the holes. I tryed pulgs (pipe thread) and bushings and they would not screw in. Are they bolt theads? Its just one hole on top of each header about 1/2" size or so. Alan

Depends on the brand of header. Some use the same thread size as the stock manifolds, this is a hybrid thread so you won't find anything that fits except for the original air pump fittings. Otherwise, you should have a standard pipe thread, dont recall the exact size but you would be able to find it at Home Depot or plumbing supply.

Call the manufacturer of your headers. Most of them will have a plug for them.

Most people use an M22 plug that you can get from your local parts store.

Thanks, they are FLPs.
Rich, on the M22 did you mean hardware or auto parts store? I asked a guy that owns the local NAPA and he said you have to use the pipe that was on the manifold and cut and weld it. The M22 sounds quick. Whats the name of the store you got it at? Alan

Scroll to the bottom of this guide.

Napa carries the M22 oil drain plugs, they're for a Mercedes or something. Cost about $8 each from Napa. 96+ cars use a smaller bolt, 3/4" I think. Depends on what kind of headers you have I guess, and what they modeled their AIR fittings after... sounds like the 1/2" 93-95 cars in the FLP case.

Nah, why would you have to cut and weld it from the stock manifold to the header? The air tube that goes in there is still the same size no matter what. If it was a different size you would have to change that fitting when you did the header install. I haven't done the AIR! mod yet, but I've heard of people getting them at their local parts store. I've also seen pics and they screw right in there. It's just a 22mm oil plug. Here is a link to where you can buy it. But you should be able to get it at you local NAPA or possibly Autozone, PepBoys. Some of the Hi Temp Copper silicone should be used too.

FLP's take 3/4 x 16 threads. That is what mine did anyway.
Here is a pic of my plugs. I made them at work.

Also the m22 plugs at NAPA are part#704-1048 I had to give them the part#, they weren't able to find it telling them m22 plugs. I just removed my AIR system today, pretty easy and straightforward.

FLP's take a 3/4 x 16 like was said. You can use an M18 plug, but it's a little loose. If you're going to use a 3/4 x 16, them run a tap thru the treads to clean out the coating.

Thanks guys. I went to Advance Auto Parts and got one (local NAPA was clueless). Just ask for a 18mm drain plug, the 22mm was way to big and you are right the 18mm was a little loose but I rapped teflon tape on the threads thick and it tightened up. Alan

I got my 3/4 x 16 plugs from this place. http://www.cgenterprises.com They have every drain plug known to man The part # for the plug is 1031, this is for a Dodge Ram. So you could probably get it at a Dodge dealer. No doubt cheaper from CG. I also got a couple of brass washers # 1034. If you want to get rid of the M18s for a more proper fit.
