Serpentine Belt
This is the dumbest thing I've seen yet. On the small pulley I see the hex bolt but it's underneath the pulley. So if I loosen the bolt to lower the tension then I will be able to slip the belt on but then how do I tighten it back up if the pulley is in the way?????
Sorry but I'm just frustrated because this should be a VERY simple procedure... Just needed to vent

The bolt is on the center of the tensioner pulley.
Turn it, -it releases pressure. Slip belt on.
Release and it springs back into position on it's own.

This doesn'r make sense to be. When I loosen or remove the bolt from the middle of the pully I don't see how it would loosen any tention unless it moved down a bit. Because it is still in the same spot...
OK I figured it out. Thanks for the advice. As I was tightening the bolt for the pulley it shifted down like I was trying to do earlier. For some reason I thought there was a bolt you had to tighten or lossen to do that. This is much easier than I thought! Thanks again!
EDIT: Okay... Glad you got it now.
This is a 93 Z28, right?
You shouldn't have to remove the bolt.. It's just a simple turn, shouldn't have to go very far. I can't remember which way you go because I haven't had my Z for a year, I think you turn clockwise though. Either way, there's an arrow on there. Just turn it, and the pulley slips up and gives you room to slip the belt on.
If you can't get the belt over the pulley, it's too small.
If the belt is too loose, even with the tensioner in position, you need to head on back to Autozone and get a smaller belt.
