my friends car has a problem,it is a 97 firebird formula lt1 6 speed,it runs great the first 50 ish miles,and then it runs like loading up or something,and this is all after resetting the computer,it misses after the 50ish miles,and doesnt run right at all,where should he look for the problem?o2 sensors or maf?thanks for all your help.

Was it running fine before the reset?
I takes a bit after a reset to relearn the cars settings before it'll settle in.

 

he had just bought it a couple months ago,with 1xxxxx some odd miles on it,,,it ran great,and about 3-4 weeks of ownership,the check engine light came on,however it still ran just like it always did with the light on,and he tried resetting the computer,and runs like total crap,loading up and blowing black smoke out when he lays into it,intially i thought 02 sensors,and for some reason he is thinkin the maf,anyway to check either to see weather it is bad??thanks.
