Question Amount of gas used during WOT?

Just curious if this is normal: the other day i did a WOT run from a stop to 80mph and had a 1/4 tank of gas before the run, and then had a near empty reading after?!?! Is this normal? I know the guages on our cars are wierd but is there something wrong here?

I believe it has to do with the V-shape of the gas tank. When you are at 1/4 tank according to your gas guage, it will go down way faster than if you have a full tank.

That is because when it is at 3/4, you really have about 1/2 left. Again, it is because of the shape of the tank. At 1/4, you only have a couple of gallons max, left. I thought everyone was used to this by now.
