Antifreeze/Coolant - What Do You Use, and Why?

In the process of getting my Z28 fixed recently there were several debates about what type of coolant to use in a GM vehicle with an engine made from both cast iron and aluminum. I'm just curious, what type of coolant do you use in your Camaro or Firebird, and more importantly WHY?

Complete Coolant Flush requires less than 2 gallons of water with 2 gallons of anti-freeze (About 15 quarts total of a 50 / 50 mixture).

It will help your engine run cooler in the summer, and from freezing in the winter.

Here is from the 95 Camaro Owners Manual...

The proper coolant for your Chevrolet will:
Give freezing protection down to -34°F (-37°C).
Give boiling protection up to 262” F ( 128 * C).
Protect against rust and corrosion.
Help keep the proper engine temperature.
Let the warning lights work as they should.
What to Use
Use a mixture of one-half clean water (preferably
distilled) and one-half antifreeze that meets “GM
Specification 1825-M,” which won’t damage aluminum
parts.

On the Containers it will tell you if it meets or exceeds the GM Specs. The original anti freeze was Ethylene Glycol mixture.

DON'T MIX Antifreeze's like the Green and Orange colored.
