power seat, rear defog circuit dead short
power seat, rear defog circuit dead short
I'm looking for likely places of a wiring short to ground in the power seat/rear defog circuit. There is a circuit breaker in the dash fuse panel for this circuit which as of now is hot on one side, and grounded on the other. The problem worsened over a few days. All was good, then battery was draining overnight, Checked amp load at batt, which was ~0.4A, then intermittently when batt was connected had HIGH current at battery terminal, a dead short.
With seat plug and defog switch unplugged and circuit testing as being grounded (and continuity between terminals) it has to have a wire pinched or somehow grounded from fuse box to seat or rear defog switch plugs.
Nothing was done to the car besides driving it anytime recently that in anyway could be related to wiring (like changing oil).
At least I managed to get the seat in a usable position (all the way back for me) before it fried out the circuit breaker in the fuse panel.
I have a schematic for the seat circuit, but info on the actual routing of the wiring would be a help too.
