I am working on a Fbody with a automatic and a LT1. The starter took a **** and I am looking for the easiest way to get it down. The Y pipe and the trans lines look to be in the way. I really do not want to attempt to take the Y pipe down being it is original and is all rusty, not to mention I am working on the ground. Is there a way to get it out without the removal of either of these.

 

y pipe has to come down i didnt have to touch the tranny lines when i did mine
