Brakes pulsing cause

When braking hard like getting off the freeway, the brakes seem to pulse. I have heard that could be warped rotors. Is there other possibilities?

Re: Brakes pulsing cause

An uneven transfer of brake pad material to the rotor will cause a pulsation. Rotors can be cleaned and "bedded" (the transfer of brake material to the rotor) to cure the issue. Check out this video: http://www.essexparts.com/learning-c...rs/post/Bed-in

Re: Brakes pulsing cause

Most of the time it's the front rotors that are warped.

If you feel the vibration in the steering wheel when braking then it's very likely the front rotors, but could be rear as well. If you want to get real technical you can get a dial indicator and measure run out. Most will just spend the $40 and replace the front rotors instead of measuring it.
