Question Spark Plug Lazyness

SO i replaced all my spark plugs with aC DELCO. Then i had to wait on the spark plug wires.. meanwhile i drove it. Stutters alot. Then i got the wires. I did not have tools at the moment to take any pumps or remove any engine parts so i managed to replace one spark plug wire on the passenger side.Closest one to the bumper. Prior to this i did notice that it was making blue sparks or so. Just that one spark plugs. As soon as i changed the wire i drove it and it drove magical. But because it took me 1 hour to change it without removing anything (Small hands) i got lazy and left it like that. I drove it again and everything was good til half hour later and it stuttered like before . As if i never changed the spark plug and the wire. Is this because im suppose to change all of the wires at the same time? and i did gap the spark plug at 50 . So im about to payy sum shop to replace the wires left. But i want to make sure its becuase of the other wires or maybe theres more to it. Thanks

This takes total dedication. It's a nightmare if you don't have the tools,or , know what you are doing.(shooten from the hip).Just take the car in to a mechanic and have this done right,My02.(Over the valve cover wires?)Idunno.Hope this helps.

Change them all. If the one wire was arcing then the others, at the same age, are in need of change as well. Even though it is tempting to leave it as is since changing them is a pain. First time I did plugs and wires it took me about 3 hours. Sadly most of this time was spent routing the wires and making sure they didn't touch anything the didn't need to.

I changed all mine with just a spark plug socket, ratchet, swivel, extension, and box ended wrench (which I used on the spark plug socket when the ratchet couldn't get to it.)

When I got my IROC the girl I bought it from took it to get serviced regularly. When I changed plugs and wires there were 3 different types of plugs and 2 different kinds of wires on it. The ones that were hard to reach had not been changed.

That's why I do as much mechanic work as I can for myself.

Re: Spark Plug Lazyness

The hardest part was I went with the 8.8 mm wires and none of the holders worked anymore. I don't remember any real difficult part besides that. I did burn one wire and had to replace it. Msd sent a new one for no cost. I never trust anyone to do these simple maintenance things. You would pay big bucks for 8 new spark plugs and they would skip one because it was hard or crack the plug. I have more time than money at this point and feel way more satisfaction doing it myself.

Re: Spark Plug Lazyness

had the same issue with my other camaro. I found out the ******* didnt change 2 wires and 3 plugs. He got what he deserved. Thats why i changed the spark plugs myself this time. But should i still replace the one i replaced (wire plug cable) or once i change the remaining old ones its going to be functioning properly?

Re: Spark Plug Lazyness

So i checked out my camaro after being once again motivated just by surfin our blogs about spark plugs... i haddnt driven it in a minute kuz i have a honda... But.. i opened the hood with one thing on my mind. Closin the gap on the spark plug a bit more... and come to be. I saw the Spark plug wire just chillin there midAir. I was like whoah is this my problem?. i connected it back and turn it on and wow like new. lol. all i have to do is re-route the wire so its not so tight. (theres no slack so maybe thats why it got loose). Crazy right?? simple basic things. One day a full tank would be empty after driving it . CRAZZZZZY. still gotta replace the old wires. But definitely happy! Thanks for the motivation!
