Cutting fender well..
Cutting fender well..
The spark plug hole on cylinder #6 is messed up. I'll try putting the plug in, it will turn a few little turns, then I'll go to tighten it down, it will tighten a few turns then just lock up. I bought a spark plug hole thread chaser from advance and I'm waiting to get this done. I'm having a friend do the work on it but he says the only way he can get his hands in there (little bit bigger guy) is if he cuts a small "trap door" in the wheel well so he can see straight through, then to cover the hole he will use rivets on a slightly bigger piece of metal..
Should I just try doing it myself, since I can get my hands around the metal pipes and everything pretty well. Or should I let him cut the hole and do it his way?

drop the motor outta the bottom should take 3-6 hrs depending how rusted over those muffler bearings are that are located near the front to rear blinking fluid radiator
I just finished doing the head gasket, car has been out of commission for over a month, cannot afford having it out any longer. Needs to be done in a day or two, don't have the time or tools to do anything like that.

well personally if you want a guy cutting up your car that's your decision. I wouldn't.
Especially since he has bigger hands, that's gonna be a bigger hole to cut!

Yeah I'd really rather there be no holes cut.. I don't like the idea at all. But what has to be done is going to be done.
Another question for everyone
How hard is it to run a thread chaser, and how big of a chance is it for me to mess it up? I've done most of this head gasket swap myself, so I'm not blind to working on the car, I've just never done something dealing with anything as important as messing up the threads in the head..

If you can get in there at the spark plug, you should be able to get in with a chaser. Use some grease on the chaser and go slowly, back it out after going in a little and remove the shavings. Repeat until complete. If you remove the exhaust it would help a lot too.
