Fel Pro Bolts

Alright, so I am having far too many issues with this head gasket. Without even putting much pressure on it, the middle bolt snapped on the 65 ft. lbs pass. These bolts were brand new Fel Pro bolts. Now I have had a couple thousandths taken off of the head, my question is could these bolts now be too long? If that's the case do you think I would run into any alignment problems with using a thicker head gasket or even two gaskets? Any thoughts would be great here, I have been having the worst luck with this car since I bought it.

use the correct gasket... you got something wrong, either the wrong bolts completely, or putting a wrong bolt somewhere..

you might want to check your torque wrench also,, seems like it would be pretty damn hard to break a head bolt off..

Using two head gaskets? Incredibly bad idea.

Did you clean out the threads before threading them in? 134-3601 are the ARP head bolts I would recommend.

I have the correct gasket, bolts, and placement...I'm thinking it's a faulty bolt. I'm considering saving up for the ARP bolts. I'm not saying that I don't have the strength to easily break a head bolt...but I have the strength of ten....toddlers. Oh and yes I cleaned all of the bolt holes.

Seems like I remember this problem when I had the heads off a couple of years ago. I do recall that they were Fel Pro bolts. When I attempted to install them I could feel them bottom out before they would clamp the head. I didn't go any further with them. Parts guy told me they were the right part number, I asked him if they were supposed to come with washers, he said no. Not having the time to look for other options I simply returned them and used the original bolts.
