cam/Double roller timing set

Will these 2 work together on a 388 stroker (6 inch rods) with electric water pump and newer style opti spark? or does comp have a small base cam in the 306?
Thanks

Isn't that timing set a pre-roller cam version? Many people use the Cloyes 9-3145 double roller.

You can also use the 3146 too.

ok so ill go with the 9-3145. Will that cam I have listed clear the rods (6in h-beam scats)? Its a regular base cam that I have, not the small base.

Thanks guys

I think the best thing to do is to install the cam and SLOWLY rotate the engine and see if you have ample clearance.

i think i ordered a 9-1145 it was $56 compared to the $90

also if you have had your block line bored the 9-3145 add a -5 for .005 shorter add a -10 for .010 shorter

9-3145-5
9-3145-10

...because it is the street version of the True Roller. The 3145 is a better quality set.

Looks like we only have the cloyes 9-3146a and 9-3146b here at work. Looks like summit says the 3146a will not work on lt-1 Any thoughts on 3146b?
Thanks

I don't see how a 3146 would work at all. It has a very different center distance than a 3145 (that many people actually do use). BTW, no double roller is going to say it fits an LT1, because they do not have the teeth on the back of the cam gear to run the water pump.

3146 - Standard center distance of 4.912in. Fits GM and Dart Rocket blocks with raised cam and small block crank snout.

3145 - Standard center distance of 4.521 in. For factory roller camshaft motors.

Hey Rob,

Maybe the part numbers changed at some point, because I definitely have the 3146 in my motor, purchased in 2004.
