BMR Trac Pack and PS LTs?

Guys,

I have an old style BMR trac pack bolted upto my BMR sfc's (as you can see in the pics below). Honestly, I've had this setup on the car so long I can't find much information about it as BMR has changed their design. My question is? I am looking to go to some PS LT's and from the setup I have I don't think the PS ORY will fit as the TQ arm mount may interfere with the trac pac. I am thinking of having a Y custom fabbed up, what do you guys think and does it look like this will be necessary? Also, what Cat do you guys recc and where abouts should I have it mounted on the Y?

I dont have any pics of my setup on an lt1 car but im running a very similar setup consisting of spohn tubular sfc and a custom made adj torque arm setup with the cross bar. My cross bar is much thicker and pretty sure it hangs a touch lower then your setup. My ps y pipe has cats so it has been modified and was clearanced to sit up higher. I had to dent my y pipe a bit so it wouldnt vibrate on the cross bar but thats small scale. You have a small diameter cross bar so you might have some more space to work with then i did. My guess is your probubly going to have to go custom or modify a ps y pipe to fit aroud it.

The pics i attached are from an 98 WS6 with LTs and 3" tsp catted y. Since i have put it on my car i modified the y pipe loop and its perfectly flat with the bar so you can get a better idea of clearance on your car.

This is what i got off the BMR site which is different from yours is and made with a tubular cross bar like. The newer bmr setup is almost identical to what i have but like i said above i modified my y pipe loop to be almost flat with the bar. This pic will give you a much better idea of whats on my car.

Yup, I have an older style track pack that has the cross bar mounted further forward closer to the tail shaft of the tranny as you can see in my pics. This is what is causing the problem and why I am going to have to go the custom Y route. Also, I thought you'd find this funny/pretty cool. I heard back from BMR today and Lee Spicher (their team lead/developer) was shocked at the photos I sent them of my suspension. He said it was like a trip down memory lane as he hasn't seen this setup in a very long time. Turns out the reason I can't find much on my setup is BMR only sold 10 total (YES that's 10) of these before they redesigned it to the current design. He was very supprised/pleased to see one installed. He said that noone at BMR would have ever even heard of this setup as he and the old owner of BMR (Brett Rockey) were the only ones there at BMR at the time. I guess I caught BMR when they first started back in the day and look at the size of them now.

Thats some sweet info Dave! I really like how tucked up that setup is and it has the DS loop aswell. Never seen this style before. Sucks the clearance is a bit of an issue but any good exhaust guy can fab something up and make it work.
