striping wheel question

well, i picked up a set of wheels, and they are white!
of course, i knew this, and figure its not really a big deal to get them redone.

but heres the question, if its just paint, i know how to strip it, but if its powdercoat, how do i strip off powdercoating?

also, whast the easiest way to tell if its paint or powdercoat?

Not sure how to tell between to two, but to remove the powdercoating, you can use Aircraft Stripper. You should be able to get it at Wal Mart or Home Depot. Just be careful with it, it's pretty gnarly stuff.

In terms of using it, the best idea I've heard is to fill a chemical safe container with enough to submerge your parts in it completely. Then you put your parts on a metal wire to be able to dip your wheel in and pull it back out. Then you just soak your wheel. The issue with that is that the stripper isn't cheap, and with something as large as wheels, it might be worth it to look into having them media blasted.
