Difference Between KDW and KDW II

Aside from the newer tread design--are they essentially the same? Same compound? The size I need is only available in the old tread design but Im still thinking of going with them. I curretnly have the gForce Sport on my car.

New Tread Design may provide different traction though:
I've heard the IIs have much better traction than the original, but I can only attest to the IIs, but cannot compare to the original as I've not driven on it

Well--I'll let you know what I think of the old design--I oredered a pair and will have them on next week. They don't have the new tread in my size. The guy at Discount tire actually thought the old desgn was discontiuned but they arent yet.

i have been running KDW OT for about 3 years now. Never had an issue, a friend that works for a local tire shop says that the difference between the I and II is design, *he has KDW II on his colbalt.
