BFG g-Force Sport or Nitto NT450

I'm looking to buy a pair of tires to get ready for the track next week, I can get the BFGs and the Nittos for the same price(around $240/pair). Which ones would give me better traction at the track?

BFGs are 255/50/16
Nittos are 245/50/16

I have used the BFG Sports and they are a nice overall tire. When it was new, I could pull a 2.05 60 ft time with them and they felt like glue (relative to my old tires) when auto crossing. I think for the money you are paying it is a very nice tire and it also seems to provide a more comfortable ride as well.

Would the lower treadwear # on the Nittos mean more grip?

NT450s have a 300 treadwear and the BFGs have a 340.

Actually the treadwear rating is just an estimate of how long the manufacturer thinks the tread of the tire will last. but you can't really compare treadwear ratings between 2 different companies since they rate their tires differently. Overall I guess the lower treadwear ratings indicate softer copounds that don't last as long but I guess that would make them slightly grippier.

I've only had BFG G-sports and Nitto 555s so I can't really say anything about the NT450s. I would take the BFGs over the 555s (a better tire than the NT450) any day.

Well, thats good enough for me. The BFGs will get here tomorrow or thursday.

I still have to either take off or unbolt the sway bar to get the car ready for the track on sunday.

I'll let you guys know how these tires do at the track and of course I'll have a few timeslips to show off This will be my first time to the track since the rebuild and I hope I dont get dissapointed.

thank you guys for all the help!
