I have a 94 camaro with the stage 1 delteq installed on it for 4 months now without a hitch. Now it seems my opti is going out. I will be replacing it with another sealed opti. My question is should I seal the back half of this opti. As you know, even the sealed opti has three vent holes on the bottom back half. I can only assume they were there to vent ozone. Now that I'm not creating any they should be useless and only a way for moisture and dirt to enter and f up my optical sensor, right?

Correct, the actualy sparking within the distributor is what produces the ozone, and thus the corrosion. I say go for it.

The operative word is "vent". The vent is to allow moisture to escape. Moisture is a killer of opti craps. Early versions were not vented. I supposed there after market models out there now that are impervious to moisture damage---I don't know. I do believe, however, that the most important thing is to keep the damn thing dry, whatever, you need to do or not do. JMHO

I installed it yesterday and plugged it up. It's running great.
