More Head Stuff

My ARP bolt kit says if i put 30wt motor oil under the washers, i should torque all bolts to 85 ft/lbs. Is that too much? I just cleaned the block and heads with scotchbrite so they look new and are smooth. Im going to hit it with some brake cleaner before they go together. Am i good to go? Any tips appreciated.

I would just torque it to the stock specs and in the way I know you already have been told.

BTW, you are never supposed to use Scotchbrite to clean engine surfaces. Small particles can get into the engine and cause wear issues. GM issued a bulletin years ago telling their shop people not to use it. Don't worry about it now, just clean it up and proceed with what you are doing.

And it cause swirls on the surface which can lead to bad sealing properties....
