Selling new SLP Ultra X airbox on eBay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...198574175&rd=1

If anybody's looking for one, I'm getting rid of this. I bought it hoping to use it with a US Exotics hood, but there's no way to make it work. I thought about changing the hood out for an Ultra Z, but I put a lot of time and $ into the US Exotics, and I like the way it looks

+*EDIT* I meant "Ultra Z" of course....god damn, my typing SUCKS

hey, I am concerned about your post here. I am Brekjeck, I was told about your ebay add via an MFBA.org member. I am currently the highest bidder on your ebay sale, but you said it does not work with the US Exotics hood? I currently have the LT1 Warbird hood, its an old model, and I think it was made my US exotics.

If this is not going to work, can you please cancel the sale. I thought that it should just hook up.

Thanks

~Brian

I 'm sending you a message through eBay to make sure you're the real bidder before I cancel the bid. It won't work with the Warbird hood, but the Warbird hood will work with the Camaro SS type airbox.

Hi Brekjeck, I just cancelled the bid. From what I was told by the manufacturer, this hood was created specifically for the SS intake. I can't use the SS intake, since I have a strut tower brace that would interfere with it. That's when I bought the SLP intake, even though US Exotics would not guarentee it would fit. Turns out, there's no way to make it work on a Camaro with the Warbird hood. I mounted it on my car, and after doing measurements the top of the box would actually hit the top panel of the hood (at the lowest point between the two scoops), with almost an inch of travel left before the hood would close. This means it would not fit even if you were to cut a "clearance" hole through the bottom panel of the hood around the box, instead of it hitting almost "flush" on the underside of the hood. The MAF sensor and the part of the air duct just after the MAF will also contact the underside of the hood, meaning you would have to cut a clearance hole for that. The T/A's must have taller fenders than the Camaro, along with a taller hood for those boxes to fit in that position. If you look at the bottom of your Warbird hood, you'll see a flat area near the middle of the hood, this is where the SS airbox will supposedly mate up to the hood, although I have not personally seen one done.

Can you post up a pic of the bottom of the hood? Since yours is a TA, I want to see if the underside is the same as mine.
