been awhile since i have been on here but i was just looking for some opinions with my setup. ive got 130-135000 miles with LTs x-pipe gears. just wanted to know if it would be a bad idea to put in a custom cam that i bought a little while ago. i don't have a lot of money so i couldn't do a rebuild, so it would just be cam, springs, rockers and pushrods. don't know if i would be more likely to spin a bearing with the miles i have or not. also, should i get a converter to go with the cam?

never a bad idea to go faster... mileage isnt horrible but its not LOW, do a compression and a leakdown test if you have any doubts on whether or not the motor will be ok, and do a routine tune up, and you should be ok...

With that kind of mileage, it is a sort of hit or miss. One of the critical factors is making sure you do a clean install. I would definitely do a converter as well.

i second that, ensure the floor you work on is spotless, you dont want any dirt particles inside your motor.

the specs are 23x/23x@ .50 .56x/.56x lift on 1.6 rockers on a 10x lsa the cam is from Bret Bauer so that is why the spces are not exact for ya.

May be a great cam, however I think I would consider going with a baby cam with a wider separation and lower rpm power. JMHO

yes the car is a DD so that could very well influence the decision.
