Since you are in CA are you planning on passing smog? If so, then most of
the cams that are smaller than the CC 503, 280XR HR13, etc. should be able
to pass smog if everything else is working properly. Although I have never
seen a car with that cam it is similar to the Crane 104227 in terms of duration.
As for the lobe design, I know nothing, but assume it will operate very much
the same as my cam.

If you are expecting to have that "cam" sound, then it may not be what you
want. You will need to bump up one notch to the 218/224 (XR268) or the hot
cam if you want a little lope in the idle. You will also find a lot of information
about the Crane 227 (104227) via the search function.

That's quite a bit of lift. The cam will most likely act like it has more duration.

I did not want to hear the cam, stock heads all the bolt ons, 1.6 rr and a 150 shot of N2O.
The cam is in the car, just waiting on some parts to come in. I was hopeing I could pass it off as a stock car with headers LOL

Not right now, Frank cleaned them up and put new seals on them, I am done spending money on my Z28. I am going to get my Nova built. I just want to get my Z28 back, so I can start pulling the motor on the Nova

I believe those lifts are with 1.6 RRs. Factory 525/520. I will be interested in how this cam works. Less lift on exhaust, operating range should provide low-end numbers, separation should provide good idle and lean a little more toward top end. Seems like an RV cam with a ton of torque down low. Doubt that you will be abe to detect much more than stock noise or bump. JMHO

Yes, those #"s are with 1.6 rr. I went with this cam because I thought the same thing, I wanted a lot of tq down low, and just before the car starts to nose over that is when I would turn the N2O on. If it does make a ton of tq down low I hope my new 315 out back will keep it going straight LOL

No I don't. I wanted a cam that I could pass off as being stock. Phill's old cam sounded way to choppy to try to pass off as stock. His old motor sounded bad *** tho... to bad he like to get it hot.

The cam I got, I only payed $200.00 for it.... so if I don't like it, later down the road I will get something from LE or AI. (heads & cam).
I also have been thinking of getting a set of the trick flow heads because I have N2O. Eric is doing a 383 LT1 right now and he got the Trick Flow heads for that set up. I will see what kind of number that car make and go from there. I already Know what people are making from LE and AI.

Like you said, don't believe every thing you read. So I would like to see it in person. I know you have AI, so I would like to see how you do. I know someone that has a LE set up. I would like to see how he does, and I would like to see how the motor that Eric is doing comes out, then I will go from there.

But 1st the Nova. That will give me time to think of witch way I will go with the Z28. I already know what I am doing to do to the Nova. I already have most of the stuff for it just need time to start it. blahblah: LOL

My current cam isn't from AI per se, but it is similar to what they would have suggested.

Why would you want the lower the compression for nitrous? Nitrous loves compression.

For what you want, I think you picked the right cam. And yes, don't be lowering the compression for nitrous.
Are the heads off the car now or not?

The Trick Flow heads are Designed for supercharged, nitrous, and stroker applications. I am just thinking about it at this time. you can mill the heads to increase compression. Like I said, I want to see what this motor my buddy is building for someone runs, it is a N2O motor with the Trick Flow heads. I want to see for my self how it work out and I will go from there.
