Tell me what I need
Tell me what I need
So I'm finally going to be building the motor (after waiting for over a year) I'm picking up a used block and am going to start from scratch. I was just going to ask you guys what parts I should run. I don't have a bottomless check book so price is some what of a barrier. But if I am going to do it right I would rather have some good quality parts and take my time on the build.
Here are my goals:
355 LT1 making around 400-430 RWHP N/A. I plan on running a LE2 kit or maybe an LE3. I also plan to spray AT LEAST a 150 shot. If I can I would like to spray a 150 for now then hopefully move up to a 200-250 after the car gets all the bugs worked out and I have the rearend/suspension to back it all up.
Start throwing ideas my way guys. Anything from internal parts to compression ratio's!!

Since your kinda on a budget look into some eagle kits/parts... How much is the car driven on the street? Let us know if you want some prices cause our engine section with parts and rotating assemblies isn't fully loaded on our site yet..
CrazyJim - The more I think about it I might go a 383. How reliable are they compared to the 355? Also, I have been talking to Golen and might just save up some dough and buy one of their competition 383 shortblocks and save myself the time and hassle of piecing it all together.
CustomSSI - The car sees 90 percent street time. I'm lucky if I take it to the track and run it hard once or twice a year.

I'd go for 383 unless you want to rev up to the stock computer and opti's limits.
I was just in Golen's shop a few days ago, great group of guys and alot of knowledge. Greg will get you setup with what you need for your goals, no problem. Your pretty much looking for the same setup I am.
