spun bearing? video

so after a cam swap on my car, i got this ticking noise in the motor. i have adjusted, readjusted, and readjusted the rockers some more without getting rid of this noise. i replaced the lifters cause i thought maybe thats what it was, but it still didnt fix it. i posted this video before, but i want to get some second opinions on what it could be. oil pressure is fine when its cold, but after it warms up, it gets very very low. i know everything adds up to a spun bearing, but i want to see if maybe theres something else i should take a look at. this video was taken a while ago, and while the car hasnt been driven for 3 months now, the noise got worse the few times i have started it since then.

You spun a bearing. My friends formula sounded exactly the same, we replaced the lifters and it never helped. Also, when his was cold the noise was very faint and he had good oil pressure, when it got warm, he wouls run about 10 lbs while cruising, and about 5 at idle, and the noise was loud. Ended up being a spun main.

My Jimmy did the exact same thing after i BROKE the crank shaft. It sounded so much like your video its scary. Of course there can be other things you hope since there isn't much worse than that. I would definately single out the noise and since it seems to go with the rpm's it sounds like the engine and not a minor issue. The vehicle ran fine for 2 miles with the noise and then it got so bad we could not continue. I was going up a steep hill at 70 with 1000+ pounds of added weight. I used a stetascope and was able to pinpoint the noise. I used an funnel till i got close and then the internals could be heard from the outside. It reminds me of something hitting the alternator as it revs. I had a bolt come loose and it made a clicking sound right with the rpm's.

Main bearing is my guess, if not then it is a rod bearing.
You can take that to the bank and start making plans to pull it.

i second the broken crank.ive seen/heard it way to many times.it kinda sounds like a bearing, but louder.either way, if you need a stock crank and rods i have some free ones in chicago.hope it is the crank, cranks are cheaper than blocks!

wow!...now im freaking out thinking I spun a bearing in mine. your sound is deeper in the motor than mine it sounds like to me.... but I have a squealing sound and was told its a spun cam bearing. I have the same oil pressure symtoms as you...exactly!

I am totally freaking out!....I have already gotten new lifters..see I found that when I took the #7 rockers off and started the motor the sound was gone..so that leaves me to believe it was valvetrain or atleast Im hoping it was just my lifters. When I took the #7 lifters out I was not able to push the plungers in AT ALL, comp replaced all the retro 853 lifters for me. they will be here Thursday. Now someone jumped in and says the squeling noise you cna hear in the vid is my cam bearing.

SO now what?
I dont mean to highjack your thread but I have somewhat the same issue.

granted mine is not an LSx motor but its stroker motor and its in a camaro.

heres mine..whatcha think? about the squeling noise?

so I shouldnt even waist my time putting the new lifters and intake back on? just go ahead and pull the motor? what about me being able to remove the #7 rockers and the sound goes away? if it was a bearing wouldnt the sound still be there?
after I removed the rocker and found that the sound was gone I didnt really pay attention to see if the sqeeling noise was still present.

the first video, THREAD MAKER yours is a spun rod bearing

the 2nd video, sounds like a collapsed lifter, as far as the squelling....... not sure

my car has some sounds, but its just engine noise, like piston slap, kinda sounds like a diesel engine if you get close to it

Once you get the lifters fixed and if you still have the noise, I would remove the belt and then see if the noise goes away.

what do you mean pull the belt? which belt? Is that squealing sound a normal sound of a bearing going bad?
