First Track Run After My Mods

I ran 14.93 before i did anything to my car. I only had CAI, Flowmaster & MAF. I just got back and ran 14.11 to 14.13 (5) times and one 13.95 going right after a 10 second car and got a 2.19 60'. My other 60' times were 2.39 to 2.45. I got great traction following the hot rubber trail a 10 second 70 Camaro left. I have 245's and have almost no traction. What would my times be with slicks if you had to guess? I like the fact i knocked a full second off but hope for more with slicks, 3:73, cutout & tune. I was figuring 13.25 to 13.75 and maybe a tune alone will get me close.

The gears are 3:23 currently. My car brand new ran 14.2 and after 100K miles it ran 3/4 of a second slower. I am not sure how much the SC unit should take off my time but i figured better than it has.

Something is seriously wrong ... Even if your pulling close to 2.5 60's, you should be running faster then 14's with a blower car.

What is the elevation of the track you are going to? If it is quite a bit above sea level that will cause slower times than some people are used to seeing on here due to the thinner air.

elevation and DA are huge factors.

I can see him getting 14s with no traction... you need drs... thats the only way you will get power to the ground.

Density Altitude should be checked, what altitude/weather conditions where it at the track? I am guessing it is high, I also race at High DA's. At 5800ft DA and my 383 it takes a 2.0 or so to run my 13.0@109. Also what was your MPH? There still may be something wrong w/ your car, but at least tell us the DA and MPH so we can better judge your times. 60' definely needs help though.

Talking

Elevation is 2461 ft. Temperature was 80-90 degrees. It was 100 that day so by 9:00 it started to cool off a little. Every run was right around 101 mph. I never let the car cool down and ran 6 times in an hour since it was so empty. My first run was 99 but i let off the gas before i crossed the finish since the finish is misleading. I hear people say if you put headers on but don't upgrade the rest of the exhaust it is a waste. I have seen reports of up to 40 horses with a cutout. I sure hope this is one of my problem. I was told the car had the cam upgraded and has a shift kit so it is hard to get an accurate tune without knowing for sure. I am hoping for a tune by sending in my scanned runs. I bought some Goodyear 315's so i will try them at the track but they are more for the steet and i will get some Slicks for the track.

With a 6.5psi supercharger, there's something still not right even at alt. Have you had it tuned by a knowledgable LT1 tuner, are you monitoring for knock and are you seeing any?

Oh, I just read your last post and it doesn't sound like it has a tune...sounds like you just recently got the car. I bet someone just slapped on the SC and thats all they did and you are getting knock like crazy. You don't mention it, but spark retard will kill your times, not to mention your bearings and head gaskets or more very quickly with a SC application.
