I want to rebuild the motor (110k miles)in my firebird (lt1) and found a good set of ported and polished 195 cc heads and wants to know what to do about pistons and crank. i plan on buying a cam and throttle body. i want to have a strong motor that can handle a 125-150 shot of nitrous and want to know how the stock assembly would hold up. i figure motor will put me in the twelves and hope nitrous can take me in the 11s ANY COMMENTS?

 

I've seen a few people running H/C setups and spray, with good results, and I've seen just as many people blowing their motors with just a heads/cam or N20.

You're probably best getting a forged shortblock, then you can go to town on it

 

A heads/cam package and a hit of nitrous on top of it may be pushing stock internals. I agree with the above, put some more money into it and get a forged shortblock.
