GM 847 vs 306

What would be the hp difference and track times between the two with stock heads . My car has 373 3000 stall tune longtube headers no suspeion work cold air 26x10 inch slicks. what do think with either of those cams can i run? Which one would be better on my setup.

those cams will make it slower than a 305.....

get the comp 305 cam, those cams are too big for stock heads

they are very similar cams, both make good power up top, but alot of people dont want to risk spinning the engine that high. I have a 306 and love it.

I'd say go with the cc503 if you want something that's been tested and that a lot of people run. If you want to go with something more aggressive that not a lot of people run, go with a Lunati Voodoo cam. They look pretty awesome.

Although, the only thing I didn't like was their spring recommendation. I would opt for a bigger spring with more seat and open pressure.

Evidence? My car went 5 mph faster in the 1/4 with the 847 than with the 305. Most 305s dyno in the mid 320s to low 330s. Most 847s dyno in the high350s to low 360s. Granted, the 847 requires a good bit more rpm, but it WILL be faster, and quicker than the 305. Most of the 306 dynos make roughly the same peak power as the 847, but a little less under the curve. I've compared my dynos and some other members 847 dynos and 305 dynos and the 847 make more under the curve, unless you count below 2800 rpms. That low of an rpm doesnt even matter.

yeah, heads have never been off the block, 200k on it, haha. I'm shifting at around 6700 maybe a little higher. And yes i know i'm crazy/dumb for turning a high mile shortblock that high but its making power just as well as a low mile car would and its not my primary source of transportation so if it goes i really don't care. when that happens time for a low compression 355
