Dealership has a 93 Lt1 camaro for $7,985? Good price?

A dealership has a 93 red LT1 camaro for sale..Its a one owner car with 38,805 miles on it..Its a 6 speed, power windows, locks, t tops, cd player and all stock..From the pics it looks good but I am going to look at it in person..Is $7,985 a good price? for a 93 with 38,805 miles?

93 is the first year of the 4th gen f bodies and there any other problems or recalls with the 93 besides not having a MAF?

Thats a good price for a 93 with only 38k miles. Hows the body look? I really dont think 93's had too many problems, like you would think. They dont have a venter opti but thats not really a big deal. I say go for it as long as its in good shape.

The car looks very nice and clean, has a big price tag though. 38k miles is low, but consider this; You could probably find one with 50-60k miles for around 4 to 5 grand. But hey, if you go look at the car in person and test drive it, and love it... go right ahead and get the car! (I looked at the pics, and the paint looks amazing!) The only thing I really hated about 93s, was the yellowish/green lettering on the gauges/stereo and such.

My 93 has T Tops and leather, two things that I heard weren't available until 94 also. Sometimes a car that comes at the very end of its run will have some options that were available to the next year.

A guy I know here has a Corvette that he bought off the showroom floor that is in a color that "wasn't available" his year. The reason is that it was late in its run and got an 06 color, even though its an 05.

As far as the yellow and gray *****, if you don't like it, swap them out. I put the instrument cluster, HVAC controls, window switches, and other pieces from a 95 into my car to eliminate the yellow writing.

not have a MAF is not a problem in the first place! if you want more details on '93s.. speeddensity.org is the place to be!

Quick run down is Speed Density computer, you can flash error codes with a paper clip, different rear gears and 2 options for manual tranny (M29 is desirable which has 3.23 gears where as M28 has 2.73 gears)...

839 t-top trans ams in 93 and only 1103 m6 trans ams in 93... car is actually pretty rare... tell me its yellow and its worth every penny.

its nice not having a maf and there really is no prpblems with them besides maybe the opti thing but thats not a problem, just a preference. check out hte link in my sig for alot more 93 specific info.

Your always going to pay top dollar at a dealer, but that car has barely been driven, so that may justify the cost. I would still chew them down, it can't hurt.

if you are getting it for a collector item ,then it would be worth it.but..if your getting it to mod then you should look into a newer one for less money.once you mod that car it will loose its value for sure.you can pick up a 95 for about $5k with low miles.

It is good you ask for opinions....but only you will know.

The car might very well be cherry and 93 F-bodies stock have always ran very well imo.

I would try to get the price lower though....that is just the normal practice...no one pays asking.

Good luck.

I could be mistaken but didn't the '93 have batch fired injectors like the L98's? I also heard that the T56 transmission in the '93 were geared different from other years.
