Mahle "D" dish (inverted dome) available very soon

An engine builder buddie of mine mentioned that Mahle hinted to him that their redesign of the "inverted dome" piston was going to be physically available very soon. I called up the Mahle guys today to confirm and yes it's true.

Engine builders, get your orders in. Mahle has the inverted dome design change in affect NOW. Instead of the full dish, (no quench pad), their inverted dome piston is now a D-dish (-16cc and -26?cc).

The pistons are in the production system awaiting their turn and should be produced within the next 3 to 4 weeks. I'm ordering a few sets right now through my jobber supplier.

Same part number as the old design. So if your supplier has any of the old inverted dome pistons in stock then you don't want them. Order from someone who usually drop ships or is out of stock, (Liberty).

Any of the inverted dome part numbers apply such as:

SBC125030I16
SBC125030I26

My I-16's are on order NOW. Been waiting 1/2 a year for these. Sell your JE/SRP stock NOW!!! (shelf stock and paper stock certificates).
(these are the PowerPac" piston kits with the super cool 1.5, 1.5, 3.0mm ring pack)

I should work for Mahle or at least get a sales commission, (really their pistons sell themselves). LOL

A little update:
The I-16cc is shipping monday from Mahle. They made 80 sets and Chad Golen and I have accounted for almost 1/2 of that so get your orders in. (as Cartman would say, "I'm seriously guys").

Note that in the original post I said the I-26 would be D-dish too. That's wrong. Only the I-16 is D-dish. The others with larger cc are still full dish which if fine but it's nice to have a quench pad.

In summary: finally available from Mahle
A very economical forged 4032 alloy inverted dome (D-dish -16cc) 6" rod .030" over piston for 3.75" crank (383) is now available from Mahle with the proper quench pad. Friction skirt coating, short "lite" wrist pin, 2 wire locks (2 grams instead of 4 grams for spirolox).
Short yet stable skirt design, good for some nitrous,
High quality piston rings, 1.5mm, 1.5mm, 3mm (i.e. lite)
Oil rings do not intrude into pin-boss, (i.e. no oil ring rail needed)

Mahle does not have D-dishes in -24cc. Only in the -16cc. (that is for small block chevy)

SRP and JE I think they have a -24cc D-dish. Flatlander Racing is a good place to search for pistons and at a good price.
