Angry Optijunk

Hey just bought a 95 TA and of course its missing. The optispark is brand new < 1,000 miles on it and new plugs and wires. The electrical plugin that plugs into the top is broke and just barely in there, it has a pretty good oil leak and is getting in from the plugin. I read somewhere that you could blow air in one vent tube location and clean it out. Anyone know anything about that? Please help me out

You probaly need to take the opti apart and clean it. Also you will need to replace the plastic pieces to ensure a tight connection. They can be bought from any Chevrolet dealer, but I recommend going to the ones listed on the board for better prices.

A dirty or corroded opti harness can be just as much of a culprit as the opti itself. Also, if oil is managing to get inside the opti, that can be a problem as well.

Well, technically it's referred to as the P.O.S. OPTICRAP, however, not bad for a newbie.JMHO
