Getting Head, need to know correct compression

actually i am getting 2 heads, for my LT1 ;-p

and i was wondering if i would be running into any issues reguarding Compression ratio (being to high) i was thinking about purchasing a set of heads that are 52cc, to keep the cars streetability, would i need an special gasket height, or any other mods to keep the ratio below 12.5:1?

thanks.

hahah wow, I took that the wrong way..I was about to say wrong section..with stock headgaskets the com. would be fine. I had 54cc heads with .039 gaskets and it was fine.

Not sure if you made that title on purpose or not, but yea I took it the wrong way at first lol. But I guess the compression mainly depends on what kind of pistons you are running also.

would be stock pistons, sorry if i have not said this, they are ported by lloyd elliot, before the packages were out, they are pretty much between an LE1 and LE2, i was thinking about getting a LE2 cam to complete the package, tryign to shoot for +/- 400 rwhp? these heads made 365rwhp on a A4 with a light cam, so i'm pretty confident that they can push a little more. just wondering if the LE2 cam would be the right path to go. yeah title on this thread cracks me up too. hah

Well if anything I think I would ask the person who ported the heads for ya. He would probly know better then anyone else on what the compression is probly gonna be. But with stock pistons you will be fine to run pump gas is my guess. So I wouldnt stress over it too much.

Note that I only came into this thread to see how many head jokes were made about the title. But since Im here Ill contribute.

Man 12.5 to 1 is pretty high for pump gas, I cant remember which combustion chamber sizes equal what Comp ratios with stock LT1 pistons but Id say you need to keep the compressoin below 12 to maintain easy streetability.

you guys realize static ratio means absolutely nothing, correct? you need to worry about your dynamic ratio for pump gas and streetability

I don't know how your calculating 12.5 c/r, but even with .027 cometics you'll be around 11.6:1 which would be pretty good for an LE2 cam.
