93/94 to 95/97 Heater hoses
93/94 to 95/97 Heater hoses
From searching I realize I'm beating a dead horse here, but just wanted to get confirmation before I put in an order tomorrow for hoses.
If I buy the heater hose assembly for the 95-97 cars and the upper (drivers side) radiator hose for a 95, I will have effectively done the "THROTTLE BODY BYPASS FREE MOD" that everyone seems to be real excited about and will not have interfered with operation of the heater system, nor the steam pipe/hose from the back of the heads as it goes directly into the radiator, right?
This would make more sense if I could go look at my car, but its on the side of the road dead now due to a heater hose leak. I'm going to buy the whole heater hose assembly, because I already changed a couple rubber pieces and am starting to get tired of draining and filling the cooling system - just want to do it and be done with it. Using that 95-97 heater hose assembly will also give me one less thing to possibly leak coolant from.
I would assume that the steam pipe also has a crimped fitting on it somewhere too to go from hard line to flexible hose, or is this clamped? That would be the other hose I've yet to replace.

yup, you can change the upper hose to the later hose without the branch and the bleeder pipe to the later one without the tee and get a couple of 90 degree hose sections and patch it together to the black plastic heater "valve".
Thanks for the confirmation. All my goodies are on order from VanDevere. The one thing I was happy about - the steam pipe with hose to radiator - looks like it's going to get changed as well, due to some significant corrosion where the rubber meets the hard line. Hope this isn't too much of a pain.
FYI - Just went to Autozone in search of the radiator hose tonight and they do not have the correct listing for the 95-97 upper radiator hose. All they list is the hose with the wye in it for the 93/94 cars for all LT1 applications, 93-97.

The steam pipe bolts to the back of both heads, up against the fire wall. Two banjo bolts hold it to the heads. The banjo bolts use 2 seals each, you should replace these seals. Shoebox has the part numbers on his site.
