94 Z28 limitations?
94 Z28 limitations?
Well basically i have two questions...1.) I know nothing about camaros but i recently picked up a stock 94 Camaro z28 5.7 V8 6-speed and I dont know what engine if its a LT1 or LS1 or the difference between them lol but anyway 2.) Whatever engine it is what would be my limitations for horsepower and still have a drivable street car? Also if someone could throw me a list of parts and price that would give me good horsepower gains that would be greatly appreciated.

more information...
#1 - how much hp are you looking for??
#2 - how much do you have to spend??
basic bolt ons could all be done for under $1000 or so
basic cam upgrade for another $500
decent heads for $1500
then you start getting into things like clutch and rear end compatiabilty with the power levels.

LS1 etal. is the latest small block series. The LTs and the LSs are completely different. The LS1 came out in 1998 in the camaro. Came out of the box with at least 50 more RWHP than the LTs.
The LT1 site is the place to be for everything you will ever want to know regarding mods for the LT1.

Sorry guys ok to make my question more resonable. I want about 450 horsepower. Would I have to upgrade the suspension/drivetran do to the increased Torque and Horsepower gains? I also have about 5,000 to spend and more money over time.
I would do an LE1 package and then spray a 75 shot to make 450whp. Very streetable.
Its a heads and cam package that is well matched and makes good power for the price.

450 horsepower at the flywheel is easily achievable with a decent heads/cam setup and that will keep you in the confines of your budget. As for the suspension, with the added power, a better suspension will definitely help in transfering that power to the pavement.
