Anyone done a remote oil filter mount?

Hey guys, anybody here do a remote oil filter mount on their car? I have a set of Kooks long tubes on the way, and I want to keep using the long style filters. I would love to see some pics if someone could post them up. Are they any drawbacks to relocating the oil filter?

None that I know of.. Although I have seen some (early small blocks) have low oil pressure after installing one. But it was just the few that I fooled with didn't seem to like it.

Mine is mounted similar to the pics above but on the inside of the frame rail. It just worked out that way with the lines provided in the kit. Thats ok though as the left fan blows directly on the filter now, it acts as an oil cooler.

ZBLKHELLRZR, thanks for the pics. I like the way yours is set up with the AN lines and fittings, thas what I was planning to do. I have looked at some kits through Summit and Jegs, but it looke like I will have to piece together my own kit. What size lines did you use? They look like -10. What brand is that oil filter pad?

quicksilver97ta I was going to mount mine in te same place where you have yours. Did relocating it affect your oil pressure at all? Im sure the oil changes must be a breeze now

the more external piping you add to the engine oil system the lower your bearing oil pressure will be. Some pressure will be lost in the effort to move oil through the remote system. Probably won't hurt a thing though in a healthy engine.

Yes it's a -10 setup. I bought the entire setup through Canton Racing. They answered all my questions and told me exactly what I needed. I have the parts list if you are interested. It's not cheap though as I purchased the billet pieces. If you don't run the sump that'll save you some money. I've got close to $800 invested in the accusump setup.

ZBLKHELLRZR if you have a parts list that you could give me, that would be great. Im not worried about it not being cheap, nothing on my car has been to this point, I just want to do it right. As far as the Accusump, if I found a good place to mount it on my car, I would consider it, its cheap insurance.

Sure I'll get that out to you later today in a PM. As far as the sump I only put it there as there was no where else to put it since I've got the blower on. But I know another guy who mounted his right behind the air damn tucked up nicley too.
