Unhappy Help! No Spark from the coil

I changed the ICM and I'm still getting no spark at the coil.
I thought it might be the coil so I mickey moused a new coil to the connectors and still no spark.
I swapped out the PCM and still no spark.

The car has been sitting there for a year.
Don't tell me I have to check for continuity in all the little wires now.

Advise please.

Thanks
Oliver

Check the fuse box under the hood. Mine did the same thing a long time ago and turns out it was just a blown fuse under the hood on the driver's side under that little black box. If this isn't it is could be your optical sensor.

Good Luck

Shoebox, Your diagrams are the best. I'll try the test you provided. I always thought the the opti's work came after the icm.

Nostang, I've check the fuses and they look good.

Thanks guys

Well, with my friends help we've figured out the problem. One of them anyway. After spending money on a new ICM and coil we found out the optispark optical pickup connector is corroded. When we pulled it, it was a green mess and all the pins were gone. So the the PCM was not getting any signal to send to the ICM.

This is the second time I'm changing the opti connector because of corrosion.

I'll keep you guys updated on whether or not my car starts after the opti swap.

Be sure to replace the harness that connects to the opti as well.

Correct. If you don't, you are just putting corrosion from the old harnes onto your new opti terminals.

I know i've bought just the connector before for about $5.
But I forgot which dealership I bought it from and the few I called this time said they only sell the whole harness for $166.

Anyone have the part number for just the connector or subharness?

Thanks
Oliver

You talking about GM part number 12130319?

$84 dollars at gmpartsdirect. Beats Summit.
There are enough junk F bodies to find one in the bone yard you know.

Bought the connector end for $8 and pins for $1.50.
Gonna try the old soldering route first.
