Anybody know the size of the 4 bolts that secure each of the stock valve covers on the LT1 engine?

 

They are 3/8

 

3/8 wrench - 1/4-20 thread

 

...and for a third answer...

1/4 - 20 x 3¼"

 

Ahh..it's like a puzzle, I get a piece with each post.

Thanks guys. I just received a set of polished AL valve covers, and trying to make sure they work with the looms for the Taylor OVTC wires. If needed, I'll find some 1/4 -20 x ?? just in case the new valve covers are not stock height.

So how many people does it take to actually install those bolts once it has taken three to state the size

 

Hopefully just one....

 

For extra credit, anybody know the height for the stock LT1 valve cover. Trying to understand how much thread engagement is design in, so I can pick the correct "new" bolt with new valve covers and OTVC looms. I'm assuming the threaded holes are blind into the heads.

 

I can measure it tomorrow, and the depth of the hole.
