1/4 mile run @ only 94 MPH????
1/4 mile run @ only 94 MPH????
Just ran my '95 A4 Z28 at KCIR. I only got one run in because of people breaking down, but I ran a 14.4 at 94 MPH. The ET sounds good to me for an A4 with 108xxx miles, but the speed sounds a little down. Shouldn't it be closer to 98 or so?
I'll be swapping out the fuel filter and EGR this weekend. Just bought the car, so not sure of the last time maintenance was preformed. Already through in a new set of plugs and had trans/coolant fluids changed. The SES came on once. Pulled the code and it showed EGR. I cleared it and it hasn't came back. Thought I'd change the EGR just be on the safe side. Plus the car has some real mild surging at steady highway speeds, so I think it may be going bad.
If the trap speed is low, what else should I be checking?
THanks
Jman

Re: 1/4 mile run @ only 94 MPH????
Mine ran 14.2's with 2.1 60's around 94 Bone stock. I thought my car was the slowest thing around. After basic bolt on's I was easily pulling 104's, and now with nearly all bolt on's I am expecting 105's and 106's.

Re: 1/4 mile run @ only 94 MPH????
You have alot to concider. I mean some of us ran 13.8's or 14.2's at 100 mph or what ever. But weather, and elvation play major roles in that as well. I would guess that around your area your times seem about right.
If you just bought the car, its always a good time to take care of the essentials. And giving it a good tune up will help, once you start modding. So take care of the essentials like fuel filter, trans fluid, rear end fluid, plugs, wires, and air filter.
Good luck man, and happy modding, these lt1's are a great bang for your buck car these days.
