what clearance in oil pan is needed whit a 396 stroker?
i don't want to buy a $150+ pan and destoy it to fit.

 

Your pan should come with the needed clearance.

Call the pan manufacturer and see.

 

You should be able to ding the stock pan so that the crank will not hit. worked great for my 383. if you are going to be doing alot of road racing spend the money for a 7 qt. pan and hi vol. standard preasure oil pump.
