If I may boast....
If I may boast....
The wife came second in sparring at the World Songham Taekwondo Championship tournament in sparring last Friday in Little Rock Arkansas.
It was a close bout and candidly Gita could have beaten her. Gita finished 5th in the top ten and this bout was for the title of "World champ" in the 30 - 39 women First degree Black belt. She lost 3 - 2. Just one quick kick to the head and..........
She then competed in the Second and Third degree ring on Sunday - women with up to 5 years more experience - and she came 3rd in forms which she is pretty happy about but was knocked out in the first bout at sparring. THIS ring is a LOT tougher, some VERY talented lady sparrers in this ring so we have some more training to do. she doesn't feel so bad about that loss as there are 3 - 4 ladies that are better then her.
I myself did not compete. Until you are Black Belt its not really a big deal to compete there. Maybe next year.

Re: If I may boast....
You may of coarse boast about something like that.
Good for her!
Must have a taken an incredible amout of time and patience to get that far.
I had no idea you and your wife were ninja's.
Hi-Yaw!

First to 5 points or two mins. This style of martial arts is not so 'physical' as most but that is not to take away form the considerable skills of those that are good at it. Very fast and VERY flexable. ( a good thing to be sure)
I'm six foot and the wife can easily do a round kick above my head. - of course she is 6 foot as well.
