License suspension?

Hey guys
So im 17 years old and i have one of Washington's stupid intermediate licenses. THey jsut sent me an announcement that my license will be suspended until i turn 18, because there are two tickets on my record. I need to drive though, so i can go to summer school and so i can get a job this summer. Its only about two months til i turn 18. So, anyone have experience with this?

Re: License suspension?

I live in Ohio so keep that in mind, when I was 16 or 17 I got two tickets, one for speeding and one for doing a burnout; yes thats right, the damn cop gave me a ticket for doing a burnout. Anyways, I had to go to court and i was in there with other teenagers in the same situation. The judge suspended my license for 3 months. But in my case, I had to drive to work and school. So I could either take the 3 months and not be able to drive to work or school or I could and take like a longer suspension time. I took the 3 months and it was the right decision because my dad came to find out that they never suspended my license, I guess they forgot to put in the computer. All I need to do is get a duplicate license made. My friend also went to court the same day and the same thing happened to him. Don't know if that helped you out any.

Re: License suspension?

See if you can dispute the tickets, here in B.C. they can’t yank your license for tickets that are still in dispute. It’s kind of like just putting it off until later, but you probably won’t get a court summons for at lest 6-10 months later. By that time summer will be over and so will summer school. At least that’s how it works here in B.C.

I’d say that the best thing for you to do would be to get yourself a second car that is a complete beater, like a sprint or firefly. Can’t do 100mph in those things unless you drop it off a cliff!!!!!!!!

Re: License suspension?

Im NOT some stupid 17-yr old kid. My tickets were both for only ten over, and that was on a straight back country road. Youre telling me that youve never gone ten over on a back country road? Then YOU dont deserve a camaro. In any other state than WA i wouldnt have any tickets. To the others of you, thanks for your advice. I think in WA they will let me get some sort of provisional license so that i can work and go to school. I live like fifteen miles out of town, so i really need to be able to drive.

Hell if I had my SS back when I was 16 or 17, I probably wouldnt have my license till I was 21 again. 2 tickets, you should be proud of that. But dont get any more tickets till after your 18th birthday or its really going to suck for you. But seriously dont get anymore tickets at all.

Re: License suspension?

Hey man, nobody is calling you stupid or any other names - you're making that up on your own.

The facts of the matter are that you own a fast car which you had a problem driving the speed limit in. There's no need to argue this with the "it was only 10 over!" statement.
All that does is admit to it.

Ya, 93Formula had a rather harsh way of putting it to you - but it's the truth.
You were speeding and you know it, and now you want to know a way to wiggle out of it.

You wanted advice - here ya go - take your medicine and find a way to get by without driving. Loads of people do it everyday and I'm sure it can work for you too.

I wish you the best of luck in finding a suitable solution to your problem that will leave you with a good feeling in the end.

LOL

first of all you know your on the graduated licensing program, a ticket is a ticket regardless if its ten over or fifty over.

did i ever state iv never gone over the limit? infact i never go the limit. but i do it acordingly where i know i wont get caught.

lol i dont deserve a camaro, riiiigght. hey i had my bird in 12th grade, and i worked part time and paid for it all myself too.

and if indeed it was only ten over you should have gone to court and disputed it.

my posts are pretty much blunt and to the point. your on garduated lisencing, you got two tickets, prolly in the same area, and you got your license taken away, ride a bike or something.

Re: License suspension?

My kids who are 10 & 7 know that heck if you have your drivers license no matter if its 10 over on a back country road that they will be responsable for any tickets they get.

As for you "well its only 10 over" are you going to be saying "well Its only.1 over the legal limit" when you are old enough to Legally drink? & you kill someone?

There was a wreck here the other day where a 16yr old girl with her License for 2 days Killed someone because she was driving over the speed limit & had a sports car. if this keeps up Wa state law will change to No ONE under the age of 18 will get their intern License.

Come on be a MAN & buck it up.

So big deal you live 15 miles out of town, My Nephew lives about that from his high school & he currently rides his bike to school until he can get his license, He also rides it back unless he knows I am in town & I am driving my truck. Oh By the way his folks dont think hes ready for his & he will be 18 next month but yet at the same time he has two vehicles ( a 73 Mustang & an 85 S-10)

Kids now a days whine about the smallest things.
