I have come to really hate the sound of my exhaust. It's too damn obnoxious for me or maybe I'm just getting old I want a more refined sound . I should have origionally bought a borla but I'm not dumping a ton of cash into the car anymore so I was thinking of a good high flow cat to smooth out the flowcrapper's drone and make the car a bit quieter.

Anyone have good experience with a high flow cat that will sound good and still pass emissions like the stock one or should I try and find a stock one? I want to weld in a cat and forget about changing out the stupid ORP every time I go through aircare.

 

i have a carsound hiflow cat... i sure as hell hope it passes aircare... it says its 50 state legal, for all emmisions, so here's for hoping....

if u want an obnoxious exhaust, try a blowmaster on a v6, at that a 3" catback... thats annoying..

 

add a cat, it'll make it sound better . thats what im gonna do

actually the hooker sounds like *** flat out ... I know what you want mike .. SLP 2 on the left .. quiet, performs and roars at WOT .... Im gonna put cats and close up the borla all the way .. I dont like loud cars anymore .. we're gettin old friend ..

 

Hey Zedzag if you’re interested in a used Borla catback I have one that is for sale. It's a single cat one so it should bolt right up to your car.

 

I've heard the hooker/no cat deal and trust me it still sounds like a flowmaster with only a little dofferent tone.

SID - I like always liked your Borla capped off through the cats.

I have Magnaflow on my Vert. Its not too obnoxious and great on the hwy.

 

im not a fan of loud cars anymore.........it gets annoying

 

I agree, the open exhaust sounds horrible on decel and well you always get the crackle or pop when cruising at the constant rpm. Borla capped off sounds better then open. Loud is ok as long as it has a clean deep sound.

 

I've never seen the logic in people plunking down the big $$$ for a Borla and then running it uncapped 99% of the time.

 

I have wondered about this also, and about why your wife would want a guy with too much unnecesary skin.
