Exhaust problems / Car

TO WATCH YOU WILL NEED THIS CODEC:
http://download.divxmovies.com/XviD-1.0.3-20122004.exe

IT DECREASED THE SIZE BY A LOT SO I USED IT!

The flowmaster sounds really good until i fit the gas and get past 3000 rpm. It cracks like no other, and its not my cat, because i took my cat off ^.^

1998 White Camaro
3.8L V6
No cat (straight pipe)
Flowmaster Exhaust
JET PCM Power Chip

Everything is great, 130,000 mi. I did notice that when I floor it sometime it doesnt want to kick into gear fast, seems something is holding it back.. If i floor it like instantly though, it will kick up to 4000-5000 rpm and ill be going fast like it should be before it switches to the next gear.

Also, I cant burnout in this car like I could my 3.4L 94. I thought the JET PCM Chip would make it so i could, but i was wrong! What can I get to take this gay rev limiter / traction control crap off?

Another thing, is it normal it hear a like pumping noise coming from my engine when i accelerate? I couldnt on my 3.4L thats why im wondering. It just sounds like im hearing the engine, but I mean a 3.8 isnt much to hear . And why the hell when I rev up past 3000 with my flowmaster it makes some freaky noise thats annoying, my rev limiter stops me at 4000, but when i get past 3, it sounds like backfire. From what I hear, every V6 with a flowmaster does it.

Any suggestions? What do you guys think , im new to here. Thanks.

First I'll mention that I also have a '98 Camaro with the 3.8L V6 and 4SA transmissoin. But it's black with better headlights haha.

Mine does the same. Makes that cracking noise. I have no idea what it is but I would LOVE to find out.

I think it's just the engine and something about it. That's how my car works too and I'm only at 45,000 miles. Hit it at the right time though and it'll throw you back in your seat.

Hypertech makes a PCM module (I think that's what it's called). Anyway I know it's the Hypertech Power Programmer III (HPP3) and it's about $300. Will that let you burn out? I'm sure it will, but I can't guarantee it. I want one myself. Here's a link on the product... http://hypertech.com/programmer.html

What about the SLP TCS Logic Module? I emailed them and they were checking to see if its just for 8s or not. But with the flip of a switch I think it takes the brake traction rev limiter off, and you can turn it back on with a flip of a switch

Yea but I want to know whats causing the flowmaster to do that, its annoying when I'm trying to rev at rice burners '.' =0

Its called a V6 motor. Thats the problem. All V6'ers sound like that and do that. I have a 99 V6 and it does samething. It does sound good when idling though cause of the removed cat. You can get full exhaust, headers back. You wil get better sound and power but it still wont stay loud rumbling thru the rpms and it also matters on the cam.

Re: Exhaust problems / Car

a lot of people are telling me that if i put my cat back on ill be able to burnout again, because right now its stopping my revs while holding the brake @ 2000-2500. and ill get better performace and sound with a hi flow cat, true?

Straight pipe better than a restricted one. A cat is a restriction. Whoever told you you get better performance with a cat isn't all there. I guess those race cars should start using cats then instead of straight pipes.

The best thing you could do is get that POS JET chip off the car and purchase HP Tuners. Nothing compares to a custom tune.
